Briant Traffic Leads the Way in Electric Vehicles

Briant Traffic is now FORS Silver Accredited

Briant Traffic recently took delivery of our very first electric vehicle. As part of our commitment to reduce our environmental impact by 2030, Briant Traffic began introducing electric vehicles into our fleet.

What is an Electric Vehicle (EV)?

An electric vehicle (EV) is a vehicle that is powered by an electric motor. It differs from the average cars and vehicles because it doesn’t use an internal combustion engine that runs on gasoline or diesel. Instead, an EV uses a large battery pack to store the electrical energy that powers the motor. These batteries are rechargeable and can be charged from an external power source, such as a home charging station or public charging infrastructure.

Briant Traffic’s Shift to Electric Vehicles

This electric vehicle is the very first of its kind used across the signal network in London. With an impressive range and the added option of rapid charge, it’s fast becoming the way forward for the rest of our fleet. This compact and versatile vehicle allows Briant Traffic to maintain healthy goals towards Mayor of London’s Nett Zero by 2030 pledge.

As we shift to using EVs as part of our fleet, we are taking a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and embracing sustainable practices while still providing safe and reliable highway maintenance services. This move not only supports our environmental goals but also enhances our operational efficiency with lower fuel and maintenance costs.

Say Hello to EVs!

As we transition to cleaner transportation options, we are committed to leading by example and contributing to a greener future. Keep an eye out for our new electric vehicles out and about in London!
